Helios, 135-Acre Mixed-Use Medical and Office Development, Breaks Ground in North Las Vegas Today

This morning in North Las Vegas, Pacific Group broke ground on Helios, a 135 acre mixed-use development, located nearby the VA Hospital. This project is estimated to have 1.3 million square-foot of office space, 290 hotel rooms in two buildings, 7 restaurants, 900,000 square-foot of research and development space, 250,000 square-foot of retail space, and create 12,000 jobs.

Nevada Infrastructure Summit Recap

Last Friday, Governor Sisolak hosted the first Nevada Infrastructure Summit at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Las Vegas Raiders President Sandra Douglass Morgan, White House Senior Advisor and Infrastructure Coordinator Mitch Landrieu and U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen delivered remarks at the event. Morgan highlighted the economic direct and indirect impact of the Allegiant Stadium and the diversity initiative in workforce.
The breakout sessions focused on transportation, economic development, high-speed internet, workforce development, clean energy investments, and water infrastructure.

A First Look at UnCommons

Last Saturday, we made our first visit to UnCommons, a new, 40-acre mixed-use development project by Matter Real Estate Group. The project has completed Phrase I and has started Phrase II of construction. Once completed, the entire project will have 500,000 square-foot of office space, 91,000 square-foot of retail space, and over 800 residential units. Total estimated project cost is $400 million.

Mark Davis Receives Good Scout Award from Boy Scouts Las Vegas Area Council
Last Tuesday, Mark Davis was honored by the Boy Scouts of America Las Vegas Area Council with the Good Scout Award. The annual Good Scout Award luncheon was held at the Orleans Hotel & Casino.
Davis and the Raiders have been longtime supporters of Scouting in Oakland, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. They are involved in the community, supporting nonprofits, youth, veterans and more. Each year, the Good Scout Award is presented at this luncheon to an individual who has made a lasting impact in our community over the years. Last year, the honoree was Jan Jones Blackhurst. All donation of this luncheon goes to support the local scouting programs.

Nevada Conservation League Honors Environment Leaders at 2022 Home Means Nevada Awards Dinner

Last week, the Nevada Conservation League held its annual Home Means Nevada Awards Dinner celebrating environment process and honoring community leaders making outsized contributions to the conservation movement.
Governor Sisolak provided the keynote address on Nevada’s infrastructure upgrade initiative, climate strategy plan and clean energy economy. He also highlighted that the election of climate champions to office is necessary to continue this progress.
